It’s Earth Week and what better way to celebrate then to learn about ways to protect and conserve our natural resources. Since Oak Park is a community that believes in being eco-conscious our Village is providing just the celebration to help spread the word about environmental awareness.
Earth Fest 2015 happens this Saturday is a great was to wrap up Earth Week by participating in an event that educates, supports and spreads awareness on environmental issues and initiatives.
The celebration starts at 10 a.m. and goes to 2 p.m. this Saturday, April 25th at the Oak Park Public Works Center at 201 South Blvd. This year’s event will include Eco-friendly vendors, restaurants and food trucks, games and activities for children, items for sale, and entertainment plus you will also be able to tour the LEED® Gold-certified public works facility. In addition, recycling booths will be available for eyeglasses, sunglasses, hearing aids, rechargeable batteries, cell phones and old blue jeans.
As in years past, all food service products will all be compost-able or reusable – good to practice what you preach Oak Park!
