The building is an excellent example of the Tudor Revival style of architecture, which is loosely based on a variety of medieval English Building traditions. It exhibits fine craftmanship, featuring an abundance of cast stone ornamentation that includes clustered columns, sculptural parapets and expressive gargoyle-like heads. The building is a distinctive late work by E.E. Roberts, an important Oak Park architect who designed dozens of buildings throughout the village from the 1890's through the mid - 1920's. It is also one of the most luxurious apartment buildings in Oak Park dating from the 1920's, a decade that saw a proliferation of multi-unit dwellings in the village.
